Jacksonville International Airport

Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) sits north of the city. Compare rental car, taxi, rideshare, and hotel transfer against the arrival time and first-night district.

I-95 and I-10

The major interstates meet west of downtown. Incidents, storms, construction, beach traffic, and events can reshape the final approach.

Amtrak Jacksonville

The station is northwest of downtown and requires a planned onward taxi, rideshare, transit, or rental-car connection.

River crossings

Downtown bridges, the Dames Point corridor, Intracoastal crossings, and the Mayport Ferry each serve different parts of the trip.

Main Street Bridge work

Beginning August 24, 2026, the southbound pedestrian walkway is scheduled to close and southbound traffic is reduced to one lane during work expected through January 30, 2027. Check the City’s I Dig Jax page before a Riverwalk crossing.

Around the city

Walk within a district; transfer between districts

Riverside Avondale, San Marco, Beaches Town Center, Jacksonville Beach, and riverfront segments reward walking after the car is parked. The beaches, Mayport, Fort George Island, airport, and Southside require real travel time. Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) buses, Skyway service, the Mayport Ferry, and River Taxi routes operate on distinct schedules; check the current route before relying on one.
